Tank Cleaning & Servicing
Servicing & inspections for commercial fuel tanks
We offer full inspection, cleaning and servicing options for both over and underground tanks. We can remove and dispose of residual and waste oil, clean out tanks and remove sludge waste, and flush pipework and connectors.
Regular cleaning and maintenance of your tanks aids safety and compliance, and prevents downtime from unexpected breakdowns - ensuring your operations run smoothly without costly interruptions. Maintenance can extend the lifespan of your tanks and equipment, reducing the need for premature replacements and saving on capital expenditures.
Well-maintained tanks operate more efficiently, leading to cost savings on fuel and energy consumption. It also minimises the risk of spills and leaks, reducing the potential harm to the environment and your reputation. Knowing that your tanks are in good working condition provides peace of mind and allows you to focus on your core business operations.
Why It Matters
The Business Case for Regular Tank Maintenance
Neglected tanks cost more to run, create compliance risk, and fail at the worst possible moment. Here is what regular cleaning protects.
Safety & compliance
Regular cleaning and maintenance keeps your tanks in safe working order and supports your duty of care obligations. Well-maintained tanks are far less likely to leak, spill, or fail inspection.
Prevent costly downtime
Sludge and contamination are a leading cause of unexpected equipment breakdowns. Scheduled cleaning stops problems before they interrupt your operations - avoiding the disruption and expense of emergency call-outs.
Extend tank lifespan
Maintenance extends the working life of your tanks and ancillary equipment. The cost of a regular clean is a fraction of the capital expenditure involved in premature replacement.
Efficiency & environment
Clean, well-maintained tanks operate more efficiently and consume fuel more effectively. Minimising the risk of leaks and spills also protects the environment - and your reputation.
Step by Step
How We Clean a Commercial Tank
A planned, professional service designed to cause minimum disruption to your site - with full documentation on completion.
Site assessment & quote
We discuss your tank setup, fuel type, and the volume of any residual product. You receive a clear, itemised quote with no hidden costs - and we agree a time to minimise disruption to your operations.
Residual & waste oil removed
Usable fuel is transferred to a temporary vessel where possible. Residual and waste oil that cannot be returned is removed and disposed of safely, legally, and in compliance with waste carrier regulations.
Tank cleaned & sludge extracted
Using specialist equipment, our engineers remove accumulated sludge, sediment, and water from the tank interior. The tank shell is cleaned thoroughly to clear all contamination.
Pipework & connectors flushed
Supply lines, return lines, and connectors are flushed to clear any contamination that may have migrated from the tank. This step protects downstream equipment such as pumps, filters, and burners.
Full inspection carried out
With the tank empty and clean, we carry out a thorough inspection of the tank shell, fittings, vents, sight glass, and visible pipework - identifying any corrosion, damage, or compliance concerns.
Report & recommendations
You receive a written summary of the work completed and any findings from the inspection. Where remedial work is needed we will advise you clearly on the options and timescales involved.
